Unfolding: A dance with change

In Unfolding, the Amsterdam-based Antti Uimonen investigates transformation through movement, questioning how we navigate change in relation to time, identity, and perception. Moving between past, present, and future, the piece invites audiences to consider what something or someone is, has been, and could become.

Blending contemporary dance, theatre, and elements of stand-up comedy, Uimonen brings a unique perspective shaped by his background in breakdancing, choreography, and future studies. The performance, which premiered at URB Festival 2024 in Helsinki, balances structured choreography with improvisation, allowing each iteration to unfold in unexpected ways.

Presented alongside Unfolding, Animal explores raw and instinctive forces that connect humans and animals. Choreographed by Marjan Raar and performed by Evgeny Kostyukov, the solo work delves into primal behaviour, survival instincts, and the blurred line between civilisation and the wild.
