TelepART: April 2024

Apr 4, 2024 | 2024, News, TelepART

In April, support from the TelepART Mobility Support Platform allocated by the Finnish Cultural Institute for the Benelux goes to:

Marija Griniuk at the Society of Artistic Research Forum at the Fontys Academy of the Arts in Tilburg, the Netherlands.

Marija Griniuk has developed a performative action for 20 to 30 participants at the Society of Artistic Research Forum that takes place 10–12 April, 2024 at the Fontys Academy of the Arts in Tilburg, the Netherlands. The performative action titled “Facilitating as Creative Practice” explores various aspects of facilitation, positioning facilitation as a role for experts and non-experts and incorporating elements of scoring and ritual. It contains several components, including the collaborative mapping action, aiming to define what facilitation means for creative individuals from various disciplines. The duration of the performance spans four hours and is structured into distinct phases.

About the artist

Marija Griniuk (Doctor of Arts, University of Lapland) has a background in performance art and performance pedagogy. The focus on archives is related to her long-standing interest in the formation of postcolonial consciousness and artistic language capable of conveying stories related to the shaping of contemporary society’s imagery and emphasising forgotten traditions as an essential element in our contemporary art history. In her performance work, she unites archival materials, storytelling and biometric data from her body, remediated into sound and colour.
