Accessibility: The Institute Office

The Finnish Cultural Institute for the Benelux is located at Rue de l’Arbre 14 (French) / Boomstraat 14 (Dutch) in the Sablon district of Brussels. While the building is centrally located and near bus and tram stops, it unfortunately is not widely accessible.

Our office is on the third floor. There are five steps at the building’s entrance without a hand railing or ramp. The building does not have automated doors. To the left of the steps, you will find a buzzer labeled with the number 3 for the Institute. Please press the buzzer and wait for us to buzz you in. Note that the door is very heavy and must be manually pushed or pulled open. Although there is a narrow lift, its door is not automated.

Inside, the Institute office is open and spacious. The toilets are located in the hallway outside the office. Although Belgian law requires them to be marked male/female, the Institute does not enforce strict rules on their usage.

Our staff are prepared to meet elsewhere for agreed meetings, if so preferred. We encourage our guests to let us know what is comfortable for them in regards to accessibility and meeting location.

Please feel free to reach out to us by phone or email if you are planning a visit and have any questions about accessibility.
