mrt 14, 2024 | News, Opportunity

Circus and Dance Info Finland, the Finnish Cultural Institute for the Benelux, and the Finnish Institute in the UK and Ireland are organising a networking trip to Circusstad Festival 2024 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands!

All Finland-based circus artists and producers who wish to network internationally can apply for the trip. Travel support will be provided for three to four participants. Please scroll down for the application instructions.

It is also possible to join the trip without travel support. If you are interested in participating with your own funding, please get in touch with Lotta Nevalainen, lotta.nevalainen@circusdance.fi

The networking trip programme

The trip includes participation in the programme of the Circusstad Festival from 2 to 5 May 2024, as well as in the two-day professional event, the Dutch Circus Showcase. The latter is organised in connection with the festival from 3 to 4 May 2024, and it includes discussions, performances, pitches and meetings with local circus and performing arts actors.

Circus and Dance Info Finland will offer tickets for the shows included in the Dutch Circus Showcase programme. If the participants wish to attend additional shows at the festival, they are expected to purchase those tickets themselves.

Additionally, Circus and Dance Info Finland, the Finnish Cultural Institute for the Benelux, and the Finnish Institute in the UK and Ireland will organise a joint meeting for the participants, where they will meet circus and performing arts operators from the region.

The programme will become more detailed closer to the trip. Circus & Dance Info Finland will inform those selected for the trip about registration and other travel arrangements.

Travel and accommodation support

Circus and Dance Info Finland and the Finnish Cultural Institute for the Benelux will provide support (up to 500 euros per person) for the travel expenses of three to four participants. The participants are expected to cover the portion of travel expenses that exceeds 500 euros, as well as meals, airport transfer, local transportation and other possible expenses.

The participants commit to writing a trip report after the event. Alternatively, the participants can do a takeover on Instagram and produce social media content during the trip. The details will be agreed upon separately with each participant.
