International Women’s Day Nordic Breakfast Discussion 2022 available online

On International Women’s day, on 8th of March 2022, our annual Nordic Breakfast reopened the stage for new panellists with a current and ongoing topic of consent law and its adoption in the Nordics as several Nordic countries have already implemented consent laws in their legislation.

The panellists were Turið Maria Jóhansdóttir, Director of Amnesty International in the Faroe Islands, Thorbjorg Gunnlaugsdottir, Member of the Icelandic Parliament, Jo Martin Stigen, Law professor at University of Oslo, specialist in international and Norwegian criminal law and Ida Östensson, Feminist and co-founder of the Fatta movement. The discussion was moderated by Catherine Van De Heyning and the opening words were given by the Norwegian Ambassador Per Sjaastad.

The panel discussion was organised in cooperation with the Embassy of Norway in Brussels, the Embassy of Denmark in Belgium, the Embassy of Iceland, the Representation of the Faroe Islands for the European Union, the Embassy of Finland and the Embassy of Sweden.
