Handle with Care by Ontroerend Goed at Hangö Teaterträff 2026

mei 18, 2026 | 2026, News, Performance

We are delighted to support Handle with Care, by Ghent-based theatre performance collective Ontroerend Goed, as part of this year’s Hangö Teaterträff festival, taking place 5–7 June 2026. Ontroerend Goed creates innovative work that invites audiences not just to watch but to become part of the performance. Even for those who don’t like interactive theatre.

Handle with Care: Ontroerend Goed

When: 5 June 2026 at 17:30 at
Where: Brankis (Nycanderinkatu 8, 10900 Hanko, Finland)
Duration: 1 hour
Language: English
Age recommendation: 14+ (with an adult)
Content warnings: Audience members are asked to participate, but you can pass everything on to someone else if you don’t feel like doing the task. The performance includes portrayals of death and dying as well as references to people that are no longer with us.
Accessibility: There is an accessible toilet. There is a stairlift and handrails on the stairs, which consist of eighteen 14cm steps. You can find accessible entrances inside the building and places to rest. There are accessible parking spaces nearby. The main entrance has a step that ranges from 6–18cm, and the main doors have 3cm thresholds. Brankis does not have an induction loop. Note also that the main door is not automatic and is relatively heavy.
Tickets: 25 € / 15 €  Get your tickets!

A box is mailed to the theatre.

The instructions are clear: Invite a group of people, on a specific night, at a specific time. Let the audience take their seats. Place the box at the centre of the stage. The audience is waiting. And then an audience member stands up and opens the box. The show has started.

Handle with Care is a theatre performance in a box. No actors, no technicians. Just a box. And you.

In Handle with Care, Ontroerend Goed gives you complete control. We provide the structure, you shape the experience. Choose your role: take the lead or observe as others make choices that steer the performance in unexpected directions. And don’t worry, there are no wrong choices in Handle with Care.

For one hour, you’ll experience something unique – one-off and unrepeatable. Here. Now. Together. No one is watching. Can you create something meaningful?

“I spent a sweetly harmonious hour experiencing Handle With Care, a show like a cross between a Pandora’s Box myth and an unboxing video.”
