The annual Spring Meeting of Finland’s cultural and academic institutes takes place in Brussels, 4–6 June 2025, bringing together institute staff, experts, and policymakers.
This year’s programme features high-level speakers and workshops focused on the theme “Policy and Accountability.” Notable speakers include Michaela Moua, the European Commission’s first Anti-Racism Coordinator. Tamara Makoni, who will lead one of the workshops, is a certified Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) specialist who helps organisations to strengthen diverse teams and achieve strategic goals.
Participants will also meet with Finnish Ambassador Jouko Leinonen and visit the European Parliament, where they will engage with key stakeholders including MEP Maria Guzenina, member of the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament.
Finland’s Minister of Science and Culture Mari-Leena Talvitie will attend the Spring Meeting to address the network and take part in roundtable discussions with institute directors.
There are 17 Finnish cultural and academic institutes around the world. They advance international mobility, visibility and collaboration of Finnish professionals in the arts, culture and research. The institutes co-operate through a Helsinki-based association, the Finnish Cultural and Academic Institutes (SKTI), which also supports their lobbying, administration and communication in Finland.
The Spring Meeting provides a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and strategic development. This edition is organised by the Finnish Cultural Institute for the Benelux in collaboration with SKTI.

Suomen kulttuuri- ja tiedeinstituuttien kevätpäivät kokoontuvat Brysseliin
Suomen kulttuuri- ja tiedeinstituuttien kevätpäivät kokoontuvat Brysseliin 4.-6.6. Instituuttien kevätpäivillä nähdään ja kuullaan kahden päivän ajan lukuisia puhujia ja työpajoja. Kevätpäivillä esitelmöivä Michaela Moua on ensimmäinen Euroopan komission rasisminvastaisen toiminnan koordinaattori. Työpajan pitävä Tamara Makoni on osallisuuden ja kulttuurin asiantuntija, joka auttaa organisaatioita käyttämään DEI:tä monimuotoisten tiimien voimaannuttamiseksi ja strategisten tavoitteiden saavuttamiseksi. Lisäksi kevätpäivien osallistujat tapaavat suurlähettiläs Jouko Leinosen sekä vierailevat Euroopan parlamentissa, missä instituuttiverkostolaiset tapaavat muun muassa MEP Maria Guzeninan. Kevätpäiviä järjestää Suomen Benelux-instituutti yhdessä Suomen kulttuuri- ja tiedeinstituutit ry:n kanssa.
Myös tiede- ja kulttuuriministeri Mari-Leena Talvitie osallistuu Suomen kulttuuri- ja tiedeinstituuttiverkoston kevätpäiville. Ministeri tuo tervehdyksensä instuuttiverkostolaisille ja osallistuu myös pyöreän pöydän keskusteluihin yhdessä instituuttien johtajien kanssa.
Kevätpäivät on Suomen kulttuuri- ja tiedeinstituuttiverkoston vuosittainen yhteinen tapaaminen. Tämän vuoden kevätpäivien teemana on Policy and Accountability.
