The Finnish Cultural Institute for the Benelux is looking for a part-time (19 hours/week) Communications Officer to join our team for permanent employment starting 10 January 2022.
As the Institute’s Communication Officer, you will:
● Be responsible for creating content such as press releases, social media posts and newsletters on the Institute’s programmes and projects;
● Be responsible for developing the Institute’s communications through various channels;
● Work with the programme team to plan communications about events and activities in the Institute’s public programme.
What we expect from you:
● Fluent spoken and written English skills are a must. Finnish language skills are not a requirement. Knowledge of Dutch or French will be considered an advantage.
● Familiarity with the best practices of common social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook, as well as digital publishing platforms, such as WordPress.
● An interest in developing the Institute’s various communications channels, such as its website and newsletter.
● Strong writing skills.
● Event production experience is appreciated. You will be expected to work with the programme team, adhere to timetables, and communicate with partners.
● Knowledge of the media fields in either the Benelux-region or Finland, or both.

The job is part-time (19 hours/week), with a salary of €1 200 per calendar month (brutto). In addition, the institute offers a fixed monthly compensation for phone and internet usage, cultural tickets, as well as meal vouchers and a monthly travel card for public transport in Brussels. The working hours are flexible as agreed with the Director of the institute.
