Boxberg joins the institute from the contemporary arts advocate Frame Contemporary Art Finland, where she worked as the Head of Communications. “I am very happy and excited to start working at the institute for the Benelux. In this role I aim to encourage new sustainable cultural collaborations, and strengthen existing partnerships on the cultural field. The rebuilding of the cultural sector is a critical factor when working internationally in a post-corona era,” Boxberg says.

“Laura Boxberg has a strong expertise in international cultural operations and community building. I am convinced that she will continue to cultivate the institute’s successful position as an international cultural liasion, bringing new practices and skills to the role. We extend her our warmest welcome to the task,” states Suvi Innilä, the chairman of the Finnish Cultural Institute in the Benelux Trust.

The Institute’s current Director Kati Laakso will start as the Executive Director at the Finnish Cultural Institute in New York in October. “Kati Laakso did an excellent job as the Institute’s Director, and continued to do so even during the challenges of the corona pandemic.
