TelepART: June 2024

Juin 18, 2024 | News, TelepART

In June, support from the TelepART Mobility Support Platform allocated by the Finnish Cultural Institute for the Benelux goes to:

Eeva Juutinen, Astrid Stenberg and Taru Aho at Pianofabriek in Brussels, Belgium.

Unknown is life, body and birth. It is one of the main aspects of the performative practice of Unknown for talking bodies – the work that deals with comfortability and uncomfortability, talking and moving, encounter and performance, multitasking and high states of presence.

Unknown for talking bodies researches pleasure as a poetry-like, mysterious entity. Using ecstatic birthing practices as a main reference it asks whether pleasure can be both a responsible action towards the environment as well as not depending on any specific environment or condition.

The performance also aims to direct the spectator’s attention towards their own bodies and asks what significance there is in being able to channel emotions, affects and energies through one’s body, movement and space.

Eeva Juutinen is completing a residency at Kunstenwerkplaats on 17–22 June 2024. It includes the performance of Unknown for talking bodies at Pianofabriek with performers Astrid Stenberg and Taru Aho.
