The Sense of Colour - panel discussion

Join us on Wednesday 27.01 for a panel talk about colours and senses. How does colour affect a space or an object? What is the impact of colour on our environment and the way we perceive things? Finnish designers enter the conversation with local names, offering their perspective and sharing their practice.

Designer Linda Bergroth and architect Tuomas Siitonen talk with Brussels-based designer Lionel Jadot and Ghent-based interior architects Doorzon about how they handle colour. What kind of role do they give to colour? Is colour mainly visual or rather functional? Is a design allowed to change colour because a trend watcher suggests a different colour palette? And does a designer from the far north approach colour differently from a Belgian designer?

This panel talk is part of our new annual programme, linked to the Senses theme. The talk is a collaboration with the Design Museum Ghent, linked to their exhibition Kleureyck, which focuses on the origin and impact of colour. Some 100 design pieces demonstrate how light, matter and patterns have an effect on colour.
