We are delighted to support Finnish choreographer and performer Eeva Juutinen<\/strong> during her third residency (18.\u201329.8.2025) at Kunstenwerk\u00adplaats vzw (KWP)<\/a> in Brussels. KWP is an experimental platform for artistic research, hosted by community centres Pianofabriek<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Elzenhof<\/a>. Juutinen presents two performances at Pianofabriek on 27 and 28 August.<\/p>\n

Unknown for talking bodies<\/em><\/h2>\n

Unknown for talking bodies<\/em> asks how pleasure can be an ethical and responsible action towards the environment and everything that lives and is. By using ecstatic birthing practices as a main reference, it wants to find out how birth could be seen as a possibility and potential for empowerment.<\/p>\n

The work aims to bring the attention of the spectator also towards their own bodies. It wants to stop in the middle and inside of the doing to sense and observe what is (happening) and the being of the happening.<\/p>\n

\nThe performance lasts approximately 40 minutes. There will be a possibility to stay for a conversation after the performance.<\/p>\n

The event is free of charge, simply show up and enjoy the performance.<\/p>\n

The performance takes places in the Elsenor dance studio on the 4th floor of Pianofabriek. The studio is accessible via stairs or lift.<\/p>\n

Eeva Juutinen<\/h2>\n

Eeva Juutinen (Finland) is a cho\u00adre\u00ado\u00adgrap\u00adher and per\u00adfor\u00admer who stu\u00addied dan\u00adce, per\u00adfor\u00adman\u00adce and cho\u00adre\u00ado\u00adgrap\u00adhy at Trinity Laban (BA) and at The Place (Post-Graduate Diploma) in London as well as in the Research Studios in P.A.R.T.S. (PARTS Research Diploma) in Brussels. Her work has been shown in Belgium, Finland, France and England; and sup\u00adpor\u00adted by the Alfred Kordelin Foundation, Arts Promotion Centre Finland and the Finnish Cultural Foundation. She has been\/\u200bwill be wor\u00adking in Kunstencentrum Buda, Vitlycke Centre for Performing Arts, Chateau De Monthelon, Routa, De School Van Gaasbeek, workspa\u00adce\u00adbrus\u00adsels and Zsenne artlab.<\/p>\n

In her work she looks for mea\u00adning\u00adful ques\u00adti\u00adons that acti\u00adva\u00adte the body and rela\u00adte to the world in dif\u00adfe\u00adrent ways. Since the begin\u00adning of 2019 all her work is based on the ques\u00adti\u00adon: How do we recei\u00adve infor\u00adma\u00adti\u00adon through our bodies and get affec\u00adted by it in our bodies? She looks at this ques\u00adti\u00adon from various per\u00adspec\u00adti\u00adves and in dif\u00adfe\u00adrent spa\u00adces and times in order to find other con\u00adcepts and more spe\u00adci\u00adfic ques\u00adti\u00adons and appro\u00ada\u00adches for dif\u00adfe\u00adrent processes.<\/p>\n
