Johanna R\u00e5man<\/strong> has been appointed as the new Director of the Finnish Cultural Institute for the Benelux. R\u00e5man begins her four-year term on 1 October 2025, succeeding Laura Boxberg<\/strong>, who has served as Director of the Institute and led its operations since 2021.<\/p>\n

Located in Brussels, the Institute creates sustainable connections and work opportunities for culture and art professionals between Finland and the Benelux countries, and promotes the visibility of Finnish culture in the region.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Institute\u2019s current programme provides an excellent foundation on which to build and further develop its important work. In today\u2019s world, fostering long-term and comprehensive international cooperation in the arts and culture is more vital than ever. A vibrant and diverse cultural landscape, along with an active civil society, are among the key forces that sustain democracy. I am truly happy and excited about stepping into this new role,\u201d shares Johanna R\u00e5man.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Since August 2023, R\u00e5man has worked as the Executive Director of DocPoint \u2013 Helsinki Documentary Film Festival, where she has been responsible for the organisation’s operations, finances, human resources, and management. She has over 15 years’ experience in international cooperation projects and the management of various arts and cultural organisations. Her previous roles include Director of Institut finlandais in Paris, Executive Director of Our Festival \u2013 a chamber art event by Lake Tuusula in Finland, Producer at Rovio Entertainment Ltd’s Audio Department in the Animation Business Unit, and Producer at the Tapiola Sinfonietta.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are delighted to have Johanna R\u00e5man at the helm of the Institute. With her extensive expertise in the field of international culture and previous experience at Institut finlandais in Paris, R\u00e5man is well placed to build on her predecessor’s achievements and lead the Institute into the future. Laura Boxberg has been an excellent director of the Institute. Under her leadership, the Institute has taken significant strides forward in terms of programming, strategy and strengthening its diverse networks and partnerships. Suomen Benelux-instituutin johtajaksi on valittu Johanna R\u00e5man<\/strong>, joka aloittaa nelivuotisen kautensa 1. lokakuuta 2025. H\u00e4n seuraa teht\u00e4v\u00e4ss\u00e4 Laura Boxbergia<\/strong>, joka on johtanut instituuttia ja sen toimintaa vuodesta 2021.<\/p>\n

Suomen Benelux-instituutti on Brysseliss\u00e4 sijaitseva asiantuntijaorganisaatio, joka luo kest\u00e4vi\u00e4 yhteyksi\u00e4 ja ty\u00f6tilaisuuksia kulttuurin ja taiteen ammattilaisille Suomen ja Benelux-alueen v\u00e4lill\u00e4 ja edist\u00e4\u00e4 suomalaisen kulttuurin n\u00e4kyvyytt\u00e4 Benelux-maissa.<\/p>\n

\u201cInstituutin nykyinen toiminta antaa erinomaisen l\u00e4ht\u00f6kohdan jatkaa ja kehitt\u00e4\u00e4 eteenp\u00e4in instituutin merkitt\u00e4v\u00e4\u00e4 ty\u00f6t\u00e4. FM Johanna R\u00e5man on ty\u00f6skennellyt elokuusta 2023 l\u00e4htien DocPoint \u2013 Helsingin dokumenttielokuvafestivaalin toiminnanjohtajana, jossa h\u00e4n on vastannut organisaation toiminnasta, taloudesta, henkil\u00f6st\u00f6st\u00e4 ja johtamisesta. H\u00e4nell\u00e4 on yli viidentoista vuoden kokemus erilaisista taide- ja kulttuuriorganisaatioiden kansainv\u00e4lisist\u00e4 yhteisty\u00f6hankkeista ja niiden johtamisesta. H\u00e4n on aiemmin ty\u00f6skennellyt muun muassa Suomen Ranskan-instituutin johtajana Pariisissa, Meid\u00e4n Festivaalin (ent. Tuusulanj\u00e4rven kamarimusiikki) toiminnanjohtajana, Rovio Entertainment Ltd:n \u00e4\u00e4nistudion vastaavana tuottajana ja Tapiola Sinfoniettan tuottajana.<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Olemme iloisia saadessamme Johanna R\u00e5manin luotsaamaan instituuttia.
