The participants for the Study Trip to the Netherlands organised by\u00a0Frame Contemporary Art Finland<\/a>\u00a0and The Finnish Cultural Institute for the Benelux have been selected. The\u00a0 participants for the trip were selected through an open call announced in February.<\/p>\n

The selected participants for the trip are\u00a0Satu Alajoki<\/strong>, director of\u00a0Oulu Artist Association<\/a>,\u00a0Pii Anttila<\/strong>, producer at\u00a0Kunsthalle Sein\u00e4joki<\/a>,\u00a0Terhi Asumaniemi<\/strong>,\u00a0director of Photographic Centre Nykyaika<\/a>,\u00a0Henna Harri<\/strong>, director of\u00a0Photographic Gallery Hippolyte<\/a>,\u00a0Toni Ledentsa<\/strong>, director of\u00a0Kuopio Artist Association<\/a>,\u00a0Aino Lintunen<\/strong>\u00a0from the\u00a0SIC-gallery<\/a>,\u00a0Vishnu Vardhani Rajan<\/strong>, vice-chair of the\u00a0Museum of Impossible Forms<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Johanna Sinkkonen<\/strong>, Chairman of\u00a0Turku Artist Association<\/a>.<\/p>\n

39 applications were submitted.<\/p>\n

The participants were selected by a working group consisting of\u00a0Raija Koli<\/strong>, Director of Frame Contemporary Art Finland,\u00a0Jussi Koitela<\/strong>, Head of Programme at Frame Contemporary Art Finland and\u00a0Laura Boxberg<\/strong>, Director of The Finnish Cultural Institute for the Benelux. In the selection process, the working group considered the applicants\u2019 motivation and the benefits of the trip for the organisation that they represent.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs the Study trip is a part of Frame\u2019s work on advocacy and development regarding the organisational structures, professionalism, and funding in the visual arts field, we emphasised that participants and organisations from across Finland were represented in the selection process. Our goal is to share the knowledge and expertise that have been gained during the study trip for the whole field of visual arts, and we hope that the outcome of the trip can be beneficial not only locally in each organisation’s operational area, but also nationwide.\u201d says Laura Boxberg, director of The Finnish Cultural Institute for the Benelux.<\/p>\n

The aim of the travel program, planned specifically for organisational actors, is to share information and heighten the knowledge related to the organisational models, programming, curatorial work, functional administration, and funding opportunities in the visual arts field. The purpose of the trip is to introduce the Dutch visual arts field to\u00a0 the participants, create networks between Finnish and Dutch professionals and to explore possibilities for future collaborations.<\/p>\n

The trip takes place from the 10th to 13th of May 2022.<\/p>\n
