Juho Myllyl\u00e4<\/strong>, based in the Netherlands, has received funding from the TelepART Mobility Support\u00a0<\/a>to\u00a0be able to rehearse and perform\u00a0in Finland with Ensemble Gamut!<\/a> music group. Myllyl\u00e4<\/strong> is a recorder player, guitarist, singer and songwriter. He studied recorders at the Conservatory of Amsterdam with Jorge Isaac<\/strong> and graduated with a master\u2019s degree in 2020. Myllyl\u00e4<\/strong> is also the winner of the Nordic and Baltic EAR-ly 2016\u00a0music competition and the winner of the International Van Wassenaer Competition 2019. Juho Myllyl\u00e4 works – besides\u00a0the Ensemble Gamut! – with the world-renowned renaissance recorder ensemble\u00a0The Royal Wind Music\u00a0since 2016. Besides recorder playing, he is the guitarist-singer-songwriter for the progressive alternative rock band Burntfield.<\/main><\/p>\n

Ensemble Gamut! TRIO: Aino Peltomaa, Ilkka Heinonen\u00a0& Juho Myllyl\u00e4<\/h3>\n

Ensemble Gamut! is a vibrant ensemble in search of new ways to perform early music. Their debut album UT (Eclipse Music) released in 2020 was received with critical acclaim and continued to win the Early Music Achievement of the Year 2020 award of the Finnish Early Music Society. The album also ranked as one of the best progressive albums of 2020 by The Progressive Aspect and nominated as album of the year by the Finnish public broadcaster YLE. Ensemble Gamut! brings medieval music from the Benelux to Finland, presenting music from the famous Gruuthuuse Manuscript in Finland in their concert \u201dI left my heart in Bruges\u201d at the Sastamala Gregoriana festival. Besides Finland and The Netherlands the group has performed in Germany and will debut in Belgium at the Musica Divina festival in 2023.<\/p>\n

The program Lapsed caick laolacatt! combines the earliest surviving written and orally transmitted music from Finland (St. Henry\u2019s rhymed office, Bridgettine chant, rune singing) with improvisation and electronics.<\/p>\n
