\u201cHow do we imagine an active and implicated role of the human as one being among other beings? What might this entail, and what might this generate?\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Enfleshed: Ecologies of Entities and Beings<\/span><\/i><\/a> is a book edited by <\/span>Kristiina Koskentola <\/b>(FI) and <\/span>Marjolein van der Loo<\/b> (NL). A wealth of perspectives is provided by the contributions of 17 authors, artists, and practitioners from across Eurasia. The volume spans various philosophical, scientific, and literary traditions from environmentalism and decoloniality to shamanism and feminist Sci-Fi poetry.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This approach results in a book that weaves together the perspectives of a multitude of entities and actors – humans being just one of many. The volume discusses the contradictory realities constructed by the current global economy as well as the power structures inherent in the production of knowledge and science:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>The conflicts generated by ecological disaster, war, the global economy, identity politics, and the power structures of knowledge production and science here intertwine with shamanisms, rituals, magic, speculation, politics, and poetics<\/span><\/i>.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Onomatopee<\/h3>\n

Onomatopee<\/strong> is a public gallery and publishing house known for its transdisciplinary projects and progressive programming. In addition to in-house projects, Onomatopee hosts and facilitates the work of individual artists and art organisations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Editors<\/h3>\n

Kristiina Koskentola<\/b> is a Finnish artist based in Amsterdam, Helsinki, and Beijing. She holds a PhD from the University of the Arts\/ Chelsea College<\/em> in London. Her most recent work focuses on possibilities of modes of knowledge production, polyvocal subjectivity and the agency of multiple co-actors (human and beyond). Koskentola\u2019s approach to art is trans-disciplinary, as her practice spans video, installation, interactive performative (cooking) projects, publications, and lectures.<\/span><\/p>\n

Marjolein van der Loo<\/b> is a Dutch artist, curator, and art educator with a master\u2019s degree in Visual Cultures, Curating, and Contemporary Art from Aalto University. Her projects engage with issues related to ecologies, environment, feminisms, agricultures, decoloniality, critical pedagogy, storytelling, and language.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
